Update: Ha, ha, ha. Did I say 8-8? It'll be 4-12. But at least the Lions and Browns won.
After last week’s Chiefs-Broncos game, my enthusiasm for football has kinda crashed. I mean, it was a good game and they were in it until the end, but I’ve seen this team before. They look like an 8-8 or 7-9 team. The coaching is bad, the QB can’t stop overthrowing receivers, the secondary is just bad, missed tackles are a way of life, they can run the ball well but it doesn’t lead to enough scoring, I could go on and on. It reminds me of the last three years of Shanahan with Jay Cutler. I’m still planning to watch, but football nihilism has overtaken me. I have other things going on in my life right now that are holding way more interest, so I’m more likely to turn off the game if it’s a bad one. As for the Chiefs, they look like they always do. They will be phenomenal all season long and then bite it hard in the playoffs. But I will say that Patrick Mahomes looks like he’s for real.
Just the one early CBS game for us and it’s naturally the Broncos-Jets game. Over on Fox we’ll get Packers at Lions followed by Vikings at Eagles. Of these three I find myself more interested in the Packers-Lions game. Honestly, I think I’m going to do housework instead. Sunday Night’s game is Cowboys at Texans? Pass. Monday Night is Redskins-Saints, and I have nothing to say about that one either.
I look through the rundown of games and I really only see one good game: the Jags at the Chiefs. Am I wrong? Just seems like a blah week.

Watch the Browns. This is our year. The games have been exciting this year because we have decent talent on the field. I'm hoping we don't throw it away like usual.

My gut tells me this isn't their year, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think they'll slowly start learning how to win and then break out next year.

Probably right. I think they’re going to have a record somewhere in the 0.35 to 0.5 range this year, really coming together late in the season, and next year they’ll make playoffs as wildcard.

Is it a bad sign that the player I’m most interested in is Seattle’s new kicker? That's probably a bad sign

This Broncos team looks just as bad as last year. They are QB-benchingly, coach-firingly bad.

I did! I enjoy any game where the Cowboys lose, TBH.

Holy crap was it loud in NRG! I’ve heard it louder just once before, but my ears are still ringing. Too many Cowboys fans, though. Need to ban them from the game next time.
Also, you know you’ve totally defeated the Cowboys fans when they start reminding you (and everyone else within earshot) that they have five rings. It’s as close to them admitting defeat as they get.
